The fashion label of the Italian tennis player Sergio Tacchini already has several decades of tradition behind it - the brand was founded in 1966 with a focus on sports fashion. As a tennis player, Sergio Tacchini was very successful - since he first played for the Italian team in 1959 he has won several Italian championship titles. Parallel to his private success, he founded his fashion label under his own name. Sergio Tacchini SpA became a sponsor and outfitter in the tennis game and outfitted many famous tennis personalities. The clothing was and is still striking today due to the bright variety of colors in the fabrics, lettering, patches and prints. This caused an uproar in tennis, as clothing was relatively monotonous and mostly white until the 1970s. In the 1980s, the brand expanded its range to include accessories such as bags, perfumes and shoes, and was also popular in other sports, such as equipping Formula 1. Subsequently, Sergio Tacchini gradually opened his own retail stores. In 1996, the brand became the official sponsor of the Italian team at the Atlanta Olympic Games, whose vintage clothing merchandise is also highly regarded! Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt in 2007, but was sold by Sergio Tacchini's son to the Chinese textile trading company Hembly International. However, in 2013 all of Sergio Tacchini's retail stores were closed by Hembly International. In 2010, Sergio Tacchini's son started a new attempt with the Sandys.Ht brand, which was based on the Sergio Tacchini brand, but without great success in online sales.
